Poetry in the Park in the Dark
Thurs, June 13, 7–9:30 p.m., Frogtown Farm
Poetry and artwork light up the night! Work by some of the Twin Cities’ most talented poets and visual artists blossoms from inside a sculpturally created rock, tricked out with solar power to brighten your path in the dark. Premiering at Frogtown Farm, watch for Poetry in the Park in the Dark to pop up in spaces across the city of Saint Paul. This project is a collaboration between Saint Paul Almanac, Frogtown Farm, and Imhotep Science Academy, an enrichment program for African heritage youth, who built the rock and made magic with the technology.
Poetry in the Park in the Dark is funded by Knight Foundation’s Knight Arts Challenge, which funds ideas that engage and enrich Saint Paul through the arts.

RONDO: Beyond the Pavement: See the film and meet the artists who created it!
Through filmed interviews with elders who lived the story, RONDO chronicles the attempted destruction of a flourishing African heritage community, sliced in half by the construction of Interstate 94 in the 1950s and ’60s and by Housing Redevelopment Authority home removals through the early ’70s. Today, this is a story of resilience, celebrating the persistence of spirit that defines the meaning of community.
